IEA-PVPS Task 12

Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) activities

With a duration of 5 years (2007-2011), the so-called Task 12 working group has been created under the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Systems Programme (IEA-PVPS).

OBJECTIVEs

Task 12 aims at fostering international collaboration in the areas of safety and sustainability which are crucial in allowing PV to grow to levels enabling a major contribution to the needs of the member countries and the world. There are both technical and perceptive issues that need to be addressed.

The overall objectives of Task 12 are to quantify the environmental profile of PV in comparison with other energy technologies and to define and address EHS and sustainability issues that are important for market growth.
