interview with the national pv associations
To better understand the challenges that Italy is going to face in the short to medium term, we have interviewed the presidents of the two Italian PV associations, GIFI and Assosolare, both of which are EPIA Members. They are playing a very active role in order to advocate solar photovoltaics towards Italian decision-makers. The coming two years are going to be particularly busy with the up-coming revision of the Feed-in Tariff. In particular, it is vital that support will not be cut drastically but instead runs smoothly for another few years, well after Grid Parity is reached overall in Italy.
Grid Parity point in Italy is subject to many debates with sometimes diverging opinions across specialists.

EPIA, as part of its PV Observatory initiative (SET For 2020) is actively working to establishing a reference definition and specification of the “Grid Parity” concept and evaluating the expected occurrence of such Grid Parity in the main EU energy markets.
