The main support scheme in Belgium is Green Certificates (GC), the level, duration and segmentation is however different from one Region to the other. In addition, at the Federal level, tax credits are available for individuals and companies.
Green Certificates in Brussels
Above the revenues of GC, the electricity can be consumed by the producer or sold to an electricity supplier.
Green Certificates in Wallonia
Brussels and Wallonia Regions give several GC for the production of 1 MWh from PV. The value of each GC for Brussels and Wallonia Regions is around 85 € (begin 2010). The value of GC is guaranteed in Wallonia at 65 € for PV systems ≤ 10 kW (there is a specific procedure above 10 kW). Flanders gives 1 GC for each MWh and has set a fixed price for PV GC of 350 €. This price will decrease to 330 € starting in 2011 and more until 2020. For all Regions, there is a GC purchase guarantee, at national level, of 15 c€/kWh during 10 years.
