Epia Policy department
MISSION
EPIA represents and defends the European PV industry vis-à-vis political institutions at European level in order to ensure the setting of a beneficial legal framework boosting PV development.
ACTIVITIES
In this framework, the EPIA Policy Department is responsible for:
- Monitoring and influencing key legislative developments at EU and national levels relevant to PV
- Providing expertise on PV technology to the EU institutions
- Providing appropriate information to its Members and gathering their input
- Communicating the priorities of the PV industry to key EU policy-makers
Policy Working Group
The EPIA Policy Group is composed of 104 EPIA Members, who expressed an interest in closely following EU policy topics and/or providing concrete input to EPIA Policy Department activities.
At the EPIA Policy Meeting on 4 November 2008, sub-groups were created to gather Members, willing to liaise with national associations or with a specific expertise related to:
- Buildings
- Markets
- Grid
- Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan
- Mediterranean countries
Members included in these sub-groups agreed to contribute actively to EPIA Policy Department activities based on their expertise.

Policy Meetings
EPIA regularly holds Policy Meetings, in order to update Members on developments in key policy topics, exchange views and gather input from Members, which will feed into EPIA position papers and set the basis for proposals for legislative amendments.
