
Solar Photovoltaic Electricity: A mainstream power source in Europe by 2020

Having taken place from 21st to 25th September 2009 at the CCH - Congress Center Hamburg, Germany, the 24th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC), organised by WIP, was once again the leading and the most important international conference in the field of Photovoltaics.
As an official event of this edition, EPIA held jointly with WIP the 6th European PV Industry Forum on Wednesday 23rd September.
Based on the results of the recent SET For 2020 study conducted by EPIA with the strategic management consultancy A.T. Kearney, the Forum focused on how solar photovoltaic electricity can become a mainstream power source in Europe by 2020.

The 6th European PV Industry Forum was jointly organised by EPIA and WIP.
With a record number of 1,580 submitted papers (20% up on last year) from over 70 countries, the 24th EU PVSEC featured no less than 280 plenary and oral presentations from international speakers and 1,000 scored and selected visual presentations. The Conference provided an excellent platform for dialogue and information exchange with over 4,000 expected participants from all around the World.
