

The “who's who” of the PV Solar branch met in Valencia to discuss the latest developments in science and industry.
The most important international Conference in the field of Photovoltaics took place on 1-5 September 2008 at the Feria Valencia in Spain. The 23rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference was the most important international Event in the field of Photovoltaics. It provided an excellent platform for dialogue and information exchange across the World.
With 1,000 contributions from all around the globe, EU PVSEC featured no less than 260 plenary and oral presentations from international speakers and almost 800 selected visual presentations.
Among the key note speakers, a special guest, Jeremy Rifkin, President of the Foundation on Economic Trends (www.foet.org), author of 17 best-selling books and key advisor to the European Union on issues related to the economy, climate change, energy security, and sustainable development, gave a lecture on the Third Industrial Revolution during the 5th European PV Industry Forum jointly organised by EPIA and WIP on Wednesday 3rd September 2008.
The biggest exhibition ever held in the area of solar power generation
This year's international industrial exhibition in Valencia was the biggest ever held in the area of solar power generation, spreading over 45.000 sqm (30.000 sqm in 2007). 650 exhibitors from 36 countries were at the exhibition space and dispayed the most innovative PV technologies and equipments from 1-4 September 2008. The 23rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition carried the Quality Label "Event institutionally supported by EPIA"
The 23rd EU PVSEC is organised by WIP in close institutional collaboration with EPIA.
